I work across various genres, including fiction (such as literary, romance, fantasy, and mystery), nonfiction (including memoirs, self-help, and academic), and children's literature. However, I specialize in urban romance and women’s fiction.

5. How long does the editing process take?

Editing timelines vary based on the manuscript's length, complexity, and the service you choose. A developmental edit might take longer than a proofreading pass. I provide estimated timelines upon manuscript evaluation. However, in most cases, manuscripts are returned within 5-7 business days.

6. What qualifications do you have?

I have been in this field for nearly a decade, which has allowed me to gain an extensive range of knowledge. Also, I take courses given by the Editorial Freelancers Association annually to stay abreast of the latest in the world of editing.

7. How do I submit my manuscript for editing?

Yes, I uphold strict confidentiality. Your manuscript is treated with utmost privacy. No one will have access to your documents unless given permission by you.

10. What are your hours of operation?

The Book Medic is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST, excluding holidays. Business is not conducted outside of those hours. Please allow 2 business days for a response to your inquiry.
